Dear Green World fellow members, ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Green World, and I on behalf of all the management of Green World Africa to thank you for your presence.
Green World has been operating in Africa for nearly one year, the arrival of a new year is a loud signal for all of us to make fresh starts and new beginnings. As the individuals set personal goals, organizations seek to set goals that resonate with the various markets in which we operate and which have relevance to the many distributors who are doing business with us. These resolutions must also be high enough to ignite and inspire all our 30,000 distributors and all the staff to take action and pull together.
In the past time, there are many things that we got right, such as the setup of offices in Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, DR Congo as well as South Africa and the setup of the distribution centers in Mozambique, Botswana, Namibia, Chad and Cote D’ioire, to name just a few. And the introduction of more new products, which enriched and enlarged the Green World product range in Africa. We got it right when we got the NAPPI Codes for most products in South Africa. We also got it right when we timely convened the first Awarding Ceremony for Africa in South Africa towards the end of 2007 and gave out many big awards including the five business cars to the top producers, which was a big motivation for all the distributors in Africa. Also we are going to give out 14 free business cars in Ghana and Nigeria at the meeting to take place on June 1st, and 7 free BMW in Indonesia in June 18th. I attribute all the achievements to everyone who is present today and those who can not make it to cone here today, it is you who make this possible. This is not enough, we will award more people with free China travel in September and will give more cars at the 2008 yearly meeting.
We are going to maintain what we got right and owning up to what we got wrong. We refuse to let mediocrity into our record of excellence and therefore we are taking a more introspective view of how we work and how we relate to each other, to our big team of distributors.
We will be turning a more rigorous inner eye on our people-on who they are and what they do. This will mean added focus on effective recruitment and intensive training so that we have a team that gives our customers the best service. We will be doing the same on our processes and procedures, removing some that have outgrown their usefulness while automating most.
The year of 2008 is a very important year and we have to feel the ravages of an often challenging environment of competition. We have to lead and create teams to be successful. Here at the beginning of very challenging times, we must look at our creativity and at the shifting paradigms. If we are able to look creative at our situation and generate new ideas and are able to put the ideas into action, I know that we will reach our dreams.
Besides, we will open and set up our Green World offices in Kenya, Cote D’ivoire and add more branch offices in Nigeria, so in this year, we would like to encourage all the top distributors to pro-act with us in appliance with the strategy and plan of Green World Africa, to take an active part in the to-be-opened markets, and also we urge you to have more conversations and dialogues with us, for we are committed to improving our operational performance. We, at Green World do appreciate the support and trust you have continued to give us and we will not take them for granted!
Today, it is a very special day for you, for everyone, especially for those winners of different awards. To the car winners, enjoy your driving, and to those winners of free China trip who will travel the day after tomorrow, enjoy you stay in China.
May I finally wish you a big success with Green World business! Best wishes for the success of the meeting today.
